Lizzie & Nicolas' Rustic Wedding in Twyford
Some weddings just have that extra little something, don’t they? Lizzie and Nicolas’ day in Twyford, Hampshire, was one of those. It was simple, heartfelt, and full of the kind of moments that make you smile without even realising it.
The ceremony was held at Twyford Church, a lovely, intimate spot in the middle of this peaceful village near Winchester. The church itself, with its old stone walls and quiet charm, felt like the perfect place for Lizzie and Nicolas to say their vows. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the whole thing felt warm, honest, and full of love.
After the ceremony, everyone headed to Lizzie’s parents’ garden for the reception. They’d put up a marquee, and it had this lovely rustic vibe that suited the day perfectly. The decorations were simple but thoughtful – soft whites and pale pinks, with wildflowers that looked like they’d just been picked from the countryside. Nothing over the top, just really pretty and personal.
Lizzie looked absolutely lovely in her classic wedding dress – understated but elegant – and Nicolas looked equally smart and relaxed. You could tell straight away how happy they were just to be there together, sharing the day with everyone they cared about.
One of my favourite moments? Their first dance. It was such a fun, laid-back affair, with everyone waving napkins in the air while Lizzie and Nicolas laughed and twirled around the floor. It was a little bit different, and it summed up the day perfectly – relaxed, joyful, and very them.
What really stood out about their wedding, though, wasn’t just the big moments like the vows or the speeches – though those were brilliant too. It was all the little things: the way they looked at each other, the sound of guests laughing under the twinkling lights, kids running barefoot on the grass. Those are the things that make a wedding feel special.
